The Warming Effect Of Climate Change - 1536 Words
Climate change has been a highly discussed issue for the past couple years, especially now that the signs of climate change are becoming more visible. The change in Earthââ¬â¢s climate began in the 19th century when ice ages and other natural changes were first identified. The idea of the ââ¬Å"greenhouse effectâ⬠was also introduced at this time. In simple terms, the greenhouse effect refers to the increase in earthââ¬â¢s temperature due to the radiation absorbed and re-emitted by greenhouse gas molecules, such as Carbon Dioxide. The re-emission by these gas molecules is what causes the planet to warm up, or otherwise known as global warming. Scientists pointed out this warming effect of carbon dioxide in the late 1960ââ¬â¢s, though some still questioned this theory at that time. About 10 years later, the warming effect became clearer and more scientists started to support the greenhouse effect theory. By the 1990s, there was a clear statement made that not only were greenhouse gases responsible for climate change, but the contribution of human emissions of these greenhouse gases was increasing, and global warming was starting to become a severe issue. On NASAââ¬â¢s climate change website, they present a graph showing the carbon dioxide levels (parts per million) dating back 650,000 years. Until about 1950, the levels of this greenhouse gases were quite stable, hitting a low of about 180 ppm. But a huge spike between 1950 and 2014 took place, putting the carbon dioxide levels at 400 ppm inShow MoreRelatedClimate Warming And Its Effects On Climate Change Essay1713 Words à |à 7 Pagesuncertain of how much warming humanity can tolerate before experiencing the most destructive and dangerous effects of climate change, but most believe that two degrees Celsius is a good starting point to aim for. Thus, the stated goal of many international climate dialogs, such as the Paris Agreements, has been to stop the planet from warming an additional two degrees Celsius in order to mobilize the action need to get the whole world to work collaboratively to solve more extensive warming. In order to preventRead MoreGlobal Warming And Its Effect On Climate Change Essay1362 Words à |à 6 PagesThe global warming is a controversial and debated topic, but it is no surprise to most people. When we think about our future, we only think about our personal life effects and benefits. Global warming is also an important and troubling situation going on the planet earth. Changes in climate can be resulted from both human activities and natural. Human activities involve careless actions and burning fuels. On the other side, natural events cause climate change by volcanic eruptions. Human activitiesRead MoreThe Effects Of Global Warming On Climate Change1012 Words à |à 5 Pagescalled climate change. This period of time may be more than a decade of length. To perform studies on climate change is very important for increasing yields and for insu ring the crops for the farmers of the modern day. These studies were used historically too and have helped the agricultural community to grow crops over the same land decade after decade. At present the earthââ¬â¢s average temperature continues to increase. One reason for this is Global warming. There are many negative effects of globalRead MoreThe Effects Of Global Warming On The Climate Change1405 Words à |à 6 PagesGlobal warming, also referred to as climate change, has become a major political topic within recent years. Essentially, a controversial debate exists regarding the causes and subsequent impacts of global warming. Nevertheless, the current consensus by most experts is that evidence unequivocally supports the measurable impacts of global warming, such as increased temperatures, melting ice, etc. A literature review will be conducted in order to present scientific evidence that illustrates the impactsRead MoreThe Effects Of Global Warming On The Climate Change1376 Words à |à 6 Pagesthreats that our planet is facing is the climate change. The temperature of the earth is warming day by day. According to many scientific researches, conducted on climate change have resulted that sudden climatic changes are the cause of global warming in the environment. The term ââ¬ËGlobal Warmingââ¬â¢ is defined as the gradual increase in the temperature of the earthââ¬â¢s atmosphere due to the greenhouse effects which results in the corresponding changes in the climate. According to IPCCââ¬â¢s research, Earthââ¬â¢sRead MoreClimate Change Is The Effect Of Global Warming936 Words à |à 4 PagesClimate change is the effect of global warming. Global warming is when the temperature of the earth is rising and this has many effects on the world we know. The greenhouse effect causes global warming. The greenhouse effect is due to gases being trapped in earths atmosphere and not being released into space beyond our atmosphere. When the gases are bui lt up in the atmosphere the heat from the sun cannot escape and thus acts as a blanket to trap the heat and ultimately gradually heat the temperatureRead More Essay on Global Warming: The Effects of Climate Change1410 Words à |à 6 PagesClimate change is a long-term alteration in the statistical distribution of weather pattern over periods ranging from decades to millions of years. The world is currently experiencing drastic change in temperature. This change can be felt in the tropical climate areas where the weather is getting hotter and hotter every day. The change in global temperatures and precipitation over time is due to natural variability or to human activity. It is also caused by accumulation of greenhouse effects (ArrheniusRead MoreGlobal Warming And Its Effects On Global Climate Change1302 Words à |à 6 PagesGlobal Warming was first measured in the 1930s, but it was assumed that the CO2 would be absorbed by the ocean without an harm, so it was not taken as a proble m. Climate change is a prominent issue that has been debated on for quite a few decades. According to wikipedia, ââ¬Å"climate change is a change in global or regional climate patterns, in particular a change apparent from the mid to late 20th century onwards and attributed largely to the increased levels of atmospheric carbon dioxide producedRead MoreThe Effects Of Climate Change On Global Warming901 Words à |à 4 PagesClimate Change The purpose of this paper is to compare and contrast the arguments made by Berger and Goreham, to determine if an increase in the levels of CO2 in the atmosphere is the primary cause of modern global climate change and if the rise can be attributed to human activities. While in agreement that there is a change in the global climate right now, Berger and Goreham have varying ideas on whether the preponderant cause of this modern climate change is rising carbon dioxide levels, accreditedRead MoreGlobal Warming : Climate Change Or The Greenhouse Effect1597 Words à |à 7 Pagesglobal warming. Global warming is defined as an increase in the earth s average atmospheric temperature that causes corresponding changes in climate and that may result from the greenhouse effect. Global warming is also known as climate change or the greenhouse effect. The main cause of global warming is too much carbon dioxide being contained in the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide, however, absorbs heat and then wa rms the planet. Many of the things we do on a daily basis worsens global warming. Some
